Architectural Openings manufactures beautiful custom wood doors & windows made in the USA. The company was founded in 1987 by Steve Kearns in Sommerville, MA. He is a life-long wood-worker whose family lineage includes many fine crafts people. Architectural Opening’s goal is to craft custom wood windows and doors that stand the test of time. One’s that will last as long as it would take for another tree to grow to replace them.
Renewable and durable wood is a beautiful natural material. Architectural Openings uses a variety of species for their products. Their renewable wood species include Mahogany, Teak, White Oak, Cherry, Reclaimed Long Leaf Yellow Pine, Maple, and Douglas Fir. Sustainably harvested lumber is shaped on state–of-the-art machinery. They are then assembled using energy efficient components that meet and surpass Passive House standards. Including multi-point locking hardware, non-petrochemical finishes and the highest quality glass.
As a result of state-of-the-art equipment and cost effective materials, Architectural Openings are able to come up with innovative solutions. This includes reviewing and resolving any production issues. Thus they are able to adapt their products for use in any architectural design. Additionally, they are able to meet the structural and safety demands of commercial use.
Architectural Opening’s products are being used in some of the most intense weather environments. Additionally, the single entry doors and replacement windows are being used in modern projects.
